St Patrick's RC Primary School

Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

Meet the staff:

Our class teacher is Mr Heron.

Miss Holiday is our teaching assistant.

We have PE with Mr Wise every Monday afternoon.

Meet the children:

Our class Saint is St Peter.

St Peter was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, and one of the first leaders of the early Church. He dedicated his life to go on missionaries and preach about Jesus.

Our class charity.

Our class charity is the Foodbank.

They give nutritionally balanced food and support to people experiencing emotional or financial crisis which in current circumstances, is under more pressure than ever. They collect food from customers at supermarkets, churches, schools and through local groups and see food as a catalyst for change by providing emergency food immediately to meet a crisis situation with some practical help while Care Professionals look at longer-term strategies.

Homework:

Each week we expect the children to complete ALL homework tasks. This includes:

  • 30 minutes of reading every day.
  • 30 games on TT Rockstars.
  • Complete all literacy homework set on Seesaw.
  • Completing any Mathletics tasks that have been set that week.

York 24.5.23

Today Year 4 embarked on a trip to York for their History topic of the Vikings. After an early start, we spent the morning in the Jorvik centre learning all about how the Vikings lived, it was really interesting and we learnt lots of new facts. We even got to make our own class coin. After lunch, we went to the DIG where we got to be archeologists for the afternoon.

King Charles' Coronation Day

On Friday 5th May, we celebrated the coronation of our new King. We spent the morning making crowns and had a surprise visit from the ice cream van in the afternoon!

World Book Day 2023

On the 2nd March we celebrated World Book Day. We had lots of amazing costumes and each child brought in their favourite book to share with us all. In the afternoon, we were visited by a local nursery and we were able to read some stories to the children.

Working with our class charity - The Foodbank

Today we were very lucky to meet Stuart from the North Lakes Foodbank. As the foodbank is our class charity, we have donated a box full of food to help them achieve their 'Christmas appeal'. We were able to ask lots of questions and found out how our donations will help over 6,000 people over the year.
