St Patrick's RC Primary School

Year 5

In Year 5 we use home work to consolidate and embed learning.

READING:

It is important that children continue to read and develop their skills as confident, independent fluent readers. Therefore we ask children to read for at least 20 minutes daily.

SPELLING:

In Year 5 we moved on to learning spellings from the Year 5 and 6 Statutory Spelling list alongside a range of suffixes and other spelling patterns.  We set spellings to learn weekly alongside a short activity to help become more familiar with these words.

MATHS:

Tasks are set weekly on Mathletics linked to learning in class and TTRS games are set weekly to consolidate and extend knowledge of multiplication facts.

From time to time, other tasks will be set in the activity section on Seesaw. Please regularly check announcements on seesaw as this is our main method of communication about homework.

If there are any issues with homework, please contact me as soon as possible. Kind regards, Mrs Whitehead.
